Inequality and inequity in women’s health: Seeking solutions

In a joint enterprise between Keele University Obs & Gynae Society and The Royal Society of Medicine the panel of expert clinicians will highlight prominent issues in women’s health and discuss why racial, social and institutional inequalities still exist in 21st century Britain and beyond.

Innovative speakers will pose solutions to these challenges and engage in meaningful discussions about the future of women’s healthcare provision.

This webinar will educate healthcare professionals and students on the inequalities within women’s health, and promote current strategies tackling the challenges faced by women of BAME backgrounds accessing healthcare.

After this webinar delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the interplay between institutional racism, socioeconomic deprivation and domestic abuse and violence against women

  • Be able to identify the current challenges faced by BAME women accessing healthcare and discuss potential strategies to reduce racism within the workplace

  • Develop an understanding of the global discrepancy in access to healthcare for women, particularly in low-middle income countries
