After a successful meeting last week, our Liftshare license has been renewed for the next three years!
Liftshare was mentioned very briefly in your induction, and in case any of you don't remember that far back (I can hardly remember what happened last week, let alone two months ago!) I thought I share with you some information about it.

So What is the Liftshare Scheme?
The scheme has been launched to reduce the number of staff vehicles onsite and reduce carbon emissions. As the Trust is committed to reducing single occupancy care journeys, the scheme is available for all members of staff. There are a number of 'Lift Share Only' parking spaces at each hospital site for use in Office hours. As the title suggests, these spaces are only for Lift Sharers.
What are the benefits of the scheme?
Reduce carbon emissions.
Save on the cost of travelling to work.
Opportunity to meet new colleagues.
Reducing single occupancy vehicles makes parking easier.
Dedicated spaces have been allocated at RSH and PRH which are close to staff entrances into each hospital.
Need I mention the fun that John and Kayleigh are having in the featured image?
Who is the Scheme open to?
The Liftshare scheme is open to all Trust Staff and students.
How do I apply?
You can reigster your interest at sath.liftshare.com, this puts staff members in contact with other Trust staff who work similar patterns or live nearby each other. It all sounds really quite clever to me.
Key info
It is open to a minimum of 2 members of staff occupying a vehicle at the time of the vehicle parking within an allocated space.
Only car sharers are permitted to park within the allocated spaces during week days between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
The scheme is self-regulating. Any abuses of the scheme, (i.e. single occupancy vehicles parking in life share spaces) will be subject to a warning and the Trust reserves the right to rescind the permit of serial abusers.
Sharing travel costs is a benefit to lift sharers and rates are calculated within the Liftshare system. These represent running costs only, have no tax implications and don't affect insurance. Any sharing of travel costs is at the discretion of lift sharers and not SaTH.
Hope that answers some of the questions you have on the lift share scheme. If you need any more information, I'm sure Alex would be happy to help and he is contactable at alexander.ford@sath.nhs.uk
